19 week checkup!

Went to my last ob appt. (here in Santa Maria anyways). Miss Loralai is still lying LOW (doc says she must have found a super comfy spot, but she feels sorry for my bladder, especially when she punches it... ya lady, tell me about it!!!). Doc guessed that little one is still upside down! Silly girl. But her heartbeat sounds great, her ultrasound last week & 1st trimester blood work all came back normal & hopefully the blood work I did today will check out normal as well! I requested my records and sat reading through them. After 2 bleeding episodes & a pregnancy that they thought was sort of "doomed" from the beginning, the tune of the nurses/doctor(s) sure have changed! They certainly under estimated this little fighter! The nurse even commented, I cannot believe you're half way through your pregnancy (she can't?! me either.). I think I'll send them a nice Christmas card with our little miracle front and center. I truly will miss my doctor...

Play dates & fun at Grammy & Papa's!

Liam spent his week playing with his friends (Aj on Wednesday & Anabelle & Ethan on Thursday). Thursday afternoon we met Grammy & GG in Paso. Kev and I went to a Zac Brown Band concert, so Grammy took Liam for a Thursday & Friday night sleepover. Grammy took Liam & cousin Ryan to the zoo on Friday & later in the evening, they visited Papa's cows! Liam is home with us now & we're thinking Grammy & Papa must have taught him better sleeping habits, as we haven't heard a peep out of him (he usually screams, cries & whines when we put him to bed!). I'm thinking he's pretty burnt out from the week, so should be sweet dreams tonight! Big thanks to Grammy & Papa for loving up on our Liam while we had a night of fun, followed by a day of PCS prep!

18 week anatomy scan

Well, she is still a she! She's hanging out ON HER HEAD! Yep, they almost couldn't get all of their measurements today because Miss Loralai is laying ON HER HEAD! That doesn't seem like it'd be very comfortable?! Tech said she'd think she would get dizzy! Maybe that's what all these wild movements are all about? She seems pretty crazy in there! All of her other measurements checked out fine. The BPD (bi-parietal diameter or diameter from one side of the head to the other; ear to ear) was a best estimate measurement due to her being on her head, but even that checked out normal. All looks well and she's measuring right on target for growth (approx. 18 weeks, 4 days). GREAT, GREAT NEWS! Although, I'm starting to worry about a c-section, as this little sweetie is almost ALWAYS head down! But we have a lot of time before that happens, so I'll just hope that she starts to cooperate. But, I want it out there that this is my prediction for this li...

Liam says his name!

Our son can finally say his first name (& middle name/last name with some encouragement!).   I never thought Liam would be a hard name for him to say! Then we asked who I was-he said "mama" then I pointed at his dad-he said "dada" then I asked who is in mama's tummy? and he said "baybee sissa" and kevin said her name & he repeated it! Weird that her name is easier for him to say?!

18 weeks!

Loralai is 18 weeks old today! I'm feeling great (minus terrible back aches & my feet being sore after being on them all day--moving stinks!, but all of that is to be expected). I'm thankful to not be sick or tired anymore. Sickness lasted until about week 10-10 1/2 and lack of energy until about week 14. It feels nice to be off the couch and keep my head out of the toilet! So far, I've gained a whole pound, but that was weeks ago! Our scale st home says I've gained 4lbs. I'm ALWAYS starving & feel like some days all I do is eat. I have an appt./ultrasound on Wed., so we'll see if I truly have hit triple digits! I just started feeling Lai Lai (as Liam calls her) move, especially in the evenings or after a sweet treat (cookies/chocolate!). Yesterday I must have felt a roll or something. I was talking to Kev and all of a sudden felt a ripple go across the inside of my tummy. Sometimes we're so busy prepping move stuff, I forget I'm pregnant. It t...

4th of July & other fun!

Bruiser found a comfy seat (the ice chest) for the ride there! Our trip to Hanford this year for the 4th involved a lot more than a holiday. Liam and I will be staying in Hanford while Kevin attends his 3 1/2 month school required before we PCS to Hawaii. So Kev and I did some house hunting & Liam.... Well, he had LOTS OF FUN of course! Tractor ride with Papa   Swimming at Grammy & Papa's HAPPY 4TH! Uncle Jake has a special touch! This was about the extent of fireworks for Liam. He started screaming during the first firework & spent the rest of the night... watching cartoons on Grammy & Papa's couch! Convinced him to do snakes from INSIDE grandma/grandpa's house & that was IT! Lunch & visiting with GG Fingerpainting with grandma, cousin & his friend Nick Liam was OBSESSED with the race cars @ the Kings Fair Petting ...
