Doctor's appointments

I've had a doctor's appointment scheduled for a while now to discuss my fertility issues. Kevin planned to stay home with Liam while I went, but it turned into a family event. Liam coughed all night (sounded like an orca was in his room) and woke an hour late with a fever, cough, crying and looking flush. I called for an appointment, all they had was 10 min. apart from mine. So Kevin took Liam to the doctor and I went for my appointment. My appointment accomplished EXACTLY what I had wanted. The doctor put a referral in for me to see an OBGYN/fertility specialist for A YEAR starting today! YAY! The base has a weird way of doing things when you see that positive home pregnancy test. You call, tell them you got a positive pregnancy test, they ask you to come in for a blood test to confirm. They call you the following day and confirm, then you go back to the hospital to the insurance office and give them your results. They link you to a doctor and you wait (usually 1-2 weeks) fo...

This is about me!

My doctor called today, my hcg's have gone down significantly (from 11,100 to 2,000 range). He is no longer concerned about a molar pregnancy... Phew dodged that bullet! He diagnosed me with another blighted ovum, although I disagree (more on that below). I have an appt dec 5th to make sure all has passed via ultrasound. I think it has (more on that below). The process of miscarrying started on Veterans day 11/11/11. I actually passed everything this past saturday 11/19/11 after my acupuncture session on friday afternoon (I credit that for progressing things or I think it would have taken longer). Will spare you the details, but yes it was painful. I'm just grateful I've given birth before-very similar feeling and helpful in the process. The entire miscarriage is pretty much over and I'm confident the doctor will find that all has passed (again credit to acupuncture). I have been to acupuncture twice (once a week). It is so amazing for stress, nourishment and I hope f...

Ultrasound

UPDATE: Hcg's are about the same as they were a few weeks ago. Doctor is hopeful that they continued to rise over the past few weeks (while we weren't collecting samples) and are now coming down. More tests to follow on Monday to be confirm. As of now, we just don't know...   Ultrasound did reveal a shock and not a good one (we were not expecting good news, but certainly not this bad of news either). There's an unexplainable mass next to the small (and shrinking) sac. So good news first, my body is handling this miscarriage on it's own. Bad news, they are worried about a molar pregnancy. If it's a molar, there is a chance the tissue is malignant (doc says in all his years of practice, he's NEVER seen a malignant one, but he has to warn me of it, because that's what the "books" say). Only a d&c would confirm for sure, they'd have to test the tissue after surgery. Doc sent me to hospital for labs, where I sit now. If hcg goes down, i...

Bounce House!

Liam got a bounce house Monday night! A gal on base was selling it, so we checked it out after daddy got off work. Liam was having so much fun, Dad said we MUST have it! So, here it is in my dining/living area. He was having a blast. Now it takes up our entire guest room, but Liam sure doesn't mind :) Spoiled much?

Worn out!

Between story time at the library, visiting daddy at work and a trip to walmart, this kid was worn out! Notice he didn't let go of that new train though! So sweet!

Story time at the library

You would not believe the chaos going on behind me during toddler story time at the local library today. Liam could have cared less what those crazy kids were doing, he just sat on that bean bag and looked at book after book. My lil bookworm!

Acupuncture

My mom sent me some information regarding acupuncture to restore balance to the body, to correct any type of imbalance NATURALLY, without the use of hormone supplements (which can make you moody, depressed and sick). I did a lot of research on it and figured I'd give it a go. I have my first appointment this Friday. The doctor who will be performing my treatments said between a pregnancy, delivery, breastfeeding and two additional pregnancies in a span of 26 months, my body may just need some time to recover, heal and find it's equilibrium. She's had HUGE success with her treatments, so I'm hoping it will not only help me to heal quickly (when/if my miscarriage starts or if I have a d&c) but also help restore balance in my body so I can prepare for a healthy full term pregnancy in the next few months! I'm also keeping my appointment with the OBGYN this Thursday to see if the sac is collapsing and how or if we are even progressing with the miscarriage (I don...

17 Months (and some extras!)

Liam turned 17 months today. I was telling Kevin, funny how I feel like I was JUST pregnant with him, but don't remember him being a baby! Guess we tend to block out all those sleepless nights, huh? Liam started his day with a new t-shirt I just bought him. He was obsessively pointing at it before we put it on. After it was on him, he walked around for five minutes pointing at the trains. If you'd ask him where his trains were, he'd look down and point at his chest/belly. This kid adores trains! I caught him doing some other goofy things too :) We spent the day relaxing, went for a walk and played. After Liam's nap, we decided to take him to an indoor bounce house in Orcutt. For five dollars, the kids can bounce for an hour. Liam was EXHAUSTED after fifty minutes! He walked over to the cubbies, grabbed his shoes and handed them to me. Guess he was ready to go. But oh the fun he had while he was there! A 6 yr old girl took Liam under her wing, she helped him th...
