Okay, seriously this time! It's A....

It's A....

Baby F cooperated and we now know what we're having!!!  Unfortunately (for those anxiously awaiting the news) we've come up with a special way to tell immediate family, which has to wait until we can make it to them on Saturday.  So no big announcement YET!  Look for the BIG REVEAL over the weekend to see if your guess was right! The lady who did our ultrasound said she is only a tech and not a doctor, so she could not guarantee that Baby F is healthy, but she sure thought our little one had the most beautiful profile and was an adorable and active guy/gal.  Speaking of parts, she checked for MANY things (our scan lasted about 45 minutes or so) and the good news is Baby F has all the parts he/she should have.  Now, we're waiting on the measurements to come back to confirm everything looks good!  Although we do have one number to share, she estimated he/she weighs 10 ounces. Mommy & Daddy counted 10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 skinny and long legs, 2 tiny ar...

Boy or Girl Poll

There have been so many guesses coming our way, I thought it would be fun to do a poll to help us keep track.  Are we buying pink or blue?  I'll start! Boy or Girl? Boy Girl  Are you a boy or a girl?       17 weeks, 1 day UPDATE: Results are in--most people think we are having a BOY!

Pink or Blue Ultrasound Scheduled

UPDATE:  We found a place that does 4D ultrasounds (and our insurance actually covers it!) so, we're going there instead.  On January 28th we find out if we're buying pink or blue!  Stay tuned... Went to the doctor today, all is well with both mommy & baby.  Mommy has gained weight (I finally broke 100!) which they were pretty excited about!  We discussed the mishap last week (they've concluded that the baby may occasionally be sitting on blood vessels/nerves which causes the blood flow to my brain to decrease).  The solution is to lay on my side, in hopes that baby will move somewhere else!  So, we'll try that.  After our discussion, they did a pelvic exam and everything is right where it is supposed to be.  Then, we did paperwork for our gender ultrasound and I did my second trimester blood work.  We walked over and set up the appointment for the gender ultrasound.  That appointment is scheduled for February 3rd (first ap...

Another Difficult Start (Week 16)

Well, the dizzy spells got the best of me on Tuesday afternoon.  I actually passed out while walking the dogs (good timing, huh?).  Luckily I recognized the feeling and sat down on the curb, got out my cell and called Kevin who just happened to be on his way home from work.  I did my best to communicate my location to him and he stayed on the phone with me until he got there.  I remember getting in the car using his voice commands since I could only see yellow spots.  Next thing I knew I was in the house, so I'm guessing I blacked out on the way home. Kevin treated me for my hypoglycemia with orange juice and a peanut butter sandwich, which had me feeling better within 10-15 min.  He decided to call the OB just to see what we should do since I actually lost consciousness at some point.  They advised us to go to the ER, just to make sure everything was okay with both the baby and myself.  I really did not want to (I was confident it was just my b...

A Difficult Start to the 15th Week

It's been a difficult beginning of the 15th week, but we're hopeful we have the problem figured out and under control.  I have been feeling very light-headed and can be talking to you one moment and laying on the floor the next (voluntarily putting myself there, have not passed out yet). Last night was the worst so far.  I was preparing dinner, having a conversation with Kevin and within seconds everything went yellow, I began to shake, I got very warm/sweaty, felt weak and was almost certain I was going to pass out.  It felt like my blood sugar had suddenly dropped lower than I have ever experienced before.  I sat, took deep breaths, put my head between my legs and did my best to communicate to Kevin (who had his back to me) that I needed juice.  I gulped the orange juice down as quickly as I could and began to feel better within a few minutes, with the exception of one eye seeing nothing but black.  Kevin quickly finished preparing my plate and I ate a ...

The Graduate & Nursery in the Making...

Yesterday was an exciting day in the Fagundes household.  Daddy-to-Be returned to work after a 2 week vacation (that part was not so fun).  While he was at work, Mommy-to-Be got all the mail from the past 2 weeks and in it was a VERY large, thick envelope from the community college Kevin attended.  I called and told him about the package and could tell he would work faster to get home on time just to open it. When he got home, he found this inside the envelope: So proud of you Kevin!   Done!  What a Relief! I am so proud of Kevin.  He completed that degree while we were in Washington, which meant working full time, deploying to Iraq twice and so many TAD assignments in a year he never even unpacked his suitcase! (TAD assignment: trips all around the country for various purposes, including training others and "playing" terrorist). I find it amazing that he was able to take on so much while continuing to be a good husband, fur daddy, son, son-in-l...

The End of 2009, Hello to 2010!

Happy New Year everyone!  We enjoyed our New Year celebration, although Mommy-to-Be was pretty lazy (making a baby is harder than I thought it would be).  We spent our New Year's at the Snowden household with our nephew, his daddy, Grandma and Grandpa (Kimber was working, so she was MIA).  Here are some photos: Braxten pedaling on his smart cycle with Auntie's help. Grandma was a little worn out from a tough day--would she make it to midnight?!  NOPE! Grandpa having fun Mommy-to-Be being LAZY... wondering if I would make it to midnight?!  YEP! Grandpa & Daddy-to-Be having fun Grandma, Brother-to-Be Bruiser, Mommy-to-Be & Brother-to-Be Porky having fun on the last night of 2009! Baby F is so lucky to have this cutie as a brother! Baby F's Daddy & Cousin Braxten His shirt says "I'm Going to be a Big Cousin"... and a cute one at that! And finally the full, blue moon (won't happen again until 2028) Kevin and I wi...
