Swing, Swing, Swing!

Liam got a new swing and tried it out for the first time this weekend! What do you think? Was it a hit? Liam has become pretty active. He army crawls/lunges all around the house. So, we started baby proofing this weekend. Baby gate is in place! While I was trying to get video of the Liam version of crawling, he pulled up for the first time (earlier that day I thought he was trying to pull up in his crib, guess I was right). This weekend and last we cheered on the Steelers to another amazing victory! We're off to the Super Bowl! And as if crawling, pulling up and teething were not enough... we're also trying to teach Liam to self soothe at night (we are in there 2-4x a night lately). If it's the 4 hour mark, we'll go in and Orajel him, give him some pain reliever medication and soothe him, but any other time he has to fuss it out. We don't let it go too far, but we do let him cry for a bit. So far he is doing really well and we h...

7 Months

7 months ago today Kevin and I became parents to the most AMAZING little man. This little guy lights up our lives and warms our hearts. It's truly unbelievable how you can love someone more and more each day. Who knew something so small could make you feel so full and complete! Liam David you are 7 months old today and your gift is... your first cold. We are awaiting test results and praying you don't have RSV (update: results were negative, thankfully; diagnosis is a very bad cold, but mama and daddy blame the valley air, you always have something going on when we return from there). You're very congested and today you began wheezing. We thought your dry cough was from teething (extra saliva causes that) but yesterday your cough became very congested so we made an appt. for today. You must do breathing treatments every 4-6 hrs (which you hate). TRULY breaks my heart. But, being the strong little guy you are, you're still happy-go-lucky... proof is in these phot...

Home & Thankful!

We made it home! Liam, Daddy and Mama slept GREAT in our own bed's last night. It was AMAZING! We are so happy to be home, so thankful that Daddy is healthy and relieved that trips to Sacramento (for now) are over! It has been a long and trying 4 months. When Liam was 3 months old, Kevin learned that he had a mass in his stomach, after going to the ER for back pain. He came home that night feeling defeated and very concerned for the future. I remained strong (for him) but secretly, I felt uneasy, scared and angry. This was supposed to be the most joyous time of our lives. Raising our first child, enjoying all of his "firsts" and now THIS?! What a nightmare... right?! Wrong! The next morning I realized the mass was still there and every morning after that we both silently woke with our own concerns and set of worries. As if life wasn't stressful enough (the life of a recruiter and a recruiter's family is daunting enough, trust me!). With heavy hearts, we set ou...

Incredibly busy and lots of progress!

We're back from Sacramento (this round anyways). Daddy had a minor surgery and is recovering well. We are hoping to get good results on all of the reports this week. Just playing the waiting game now... Mama & Liam at the Capital Our lil' family before daddy's surgery Grammy & Papa w. Liam at the Capital Liam did GREAT traveling to/from Sacramento and living in a hotel for 3 days! He sure is a great baby... so laid back! We are so blessed. Mama brought home a daddy who was/is not feeling so well (w/ stitches and several holes in his tummy) and Friday night, Liam had his first fever (101) due to TEETHING (we've counted 6 little buds). My poor guys! When we do illnesses in this family, my boys truly do it up. So we're currently in Hanford leaning on the grandparents for baby-duty while daddy recovers (we are so thankful to have such supportive/helpful family). Hopefully he'll be feeling better soon. Liam is still a happy-go-lucky baby (again, we'r...

First Christmas 2010

It was a busy holiday! On Monday the 21st we woke up early and drove to Sacramento. Daddy has been struggling with a medical issue for the past few months and he had an appt. to see a specialist that afternoon. Liam did GREAT on the trip (definitely likes his new car seat better than the old one). There were absolutely no tears during the trip and he even napped too! Way to go baby. We made it to daddy's appt. just in time and checked into our hotel immediately after daddy finished up his tests. We went to the hotel for dinner with Grammy & Papa (they came along to help w. Liam). After dinner we headed up to our room and took a much needed nap. Agh! so refreshing. That night was spent hanging out with Grammy and Papa and doing our usual routine. Liam slept great that night (mama and daddy were worried about sharing a room, but surprisingly Liam was more disruptive to our sleep than we were to his... which is the way we prefer it). The next day we got out of town early, as L...
