Who Says we Can't?

Who says we can't choose a name for our baby in the hospital?   I asked myself that question this morning.  Although not common practice, there really are no rules on the subject. We've narrowed down our list of names to a few favorites, but I find I cannot choose one because I just don't know if our son will look like a Levi or a Liam or a Koehn or an Aisen or a... you get the picture!  I don't know if Kevin will agree with me (I'll discuss it with him tonight after work) but maybe we truly have to wait until we see our son to make the decision.  After all, we like all of the names but the fact of the matter is the name must "match" our son's face and personality.  I mean, we did not name our dogs without first meeting and interacting with them!  Out of curiosity what are your thoughts on this topic? In other news, Baby F is moving, kicking, jabbing, somersaulting and otherwise having a good ole' time in Mommy's tummy!  This has been going ...

Babysitting our Niece

Took me a while, but I'm finally getting around to posting photos of my day babysitting my niece last week.  I also get her this week and Uncle Kevin took the day off to join us!  We sure are looking forward to another fun day with our beautiful niece Natalie.  She was such a good girl--she talked to me and smiled a lot.  What a blessing!   She loved staring at herself in the mirror Auntie what are you doing?   And she's out! She loved the swing!  Hope our baby loves it just as much!   She liked kicking the ball with her foot, she even dropped her rattle to do so! Bruiser & Natalie feeling each other out--I think she likes him (and I KNOW he loves her) Trying to get a smile after a diaper change/before we changed clothes Almost... There it is! She LOVED sitting in my lap and staring at the dog... she is so observant now! Thank you Natalie for a wonderful day and Thank you to Mommy & Daddy for trusting us with your beautiful d...

21 Week Appointment

We had our 21 week doctor's appointment yesterday.  It was really uneventful to say the least.  I gained 2lbs which the nurse/doctor seemed fine with, but I know I am supposed to be gaining about 1-1.5lbs a week (due to being underweight when I got pregnant) so I was a bit disappointed.  I should have gained at least 4lbs!  I guess I had better eat more (although it seems like that is all I do these days, so I'm not sure how I'll increase it any). Everything looked fine, including test results.  We discussed with both the nurse and the doctor my passing out again and they both agreed that it is a normal pregnancy symptom for some women.  Although the nurse recommended I make an appointment with my regular doctor to get more answers.  Although our OB did not seem too concerned and actually said it may get better over time as the uterus rises off my bladder and whatever nerves it seems to be sitting on currently.  So I am debating on making anoth...

Hearts Day & A Long Weekend

It was a lovely and busy weekend in the Fagundes household.  Kevin took Friday off of work (poor guy needed a break) and we gave it to him.  We slept in, ate breakfast, lounged around for a bit, then Kevin headed off to a quick work function and was back home in enough time to take us out to the beach for a while.  The dogs LOVED romping around in the dunes (they love chasing each other in sand!).  Wish I would have brought the camera along--they really were too funny. Saturday we set our alarm and got up at a decent time so we could celebrate our Valentine's Day (we decided to do our celebrating a day early since we had a scheduled hospital tour on hearts day!).  We enjoyed a nice breakfast, watched the dogs play (daddy even took them for a walk, while mommy prepared a "lunch to go" and some snacks).  We headed out to Heart Castle that afternoon with plans to see the elephant seals and have a nice dinner after our tour.  We had a wonderful time driv...
