In Honor of the Single Digit Countdown...

you've just entered the single-digit countdown (only nine more weeks to go!).   -Your baby weighs about 3 1/2 pounds and measures a little over 16 inches, about the same length as that miniskirt you used to wear (and will again someday!).  - From this week on, your baby will continue to gain around 1/2 pound a week until shortly before birth (even though it may feel like a whole lot more with every step you take). - Due to increasing space constraints, your baby's arms and legs stay drawn up close to the body now, known as the fetal position (oh, so that's where that name came from!).  -Your baby can now process information from all five senses—so she'll be all set to smell the pureed peas, taste them, feel them as she mashes them into her hair, hear you crack up and then see the flash as you grab the camera to snap picture after picture. -By now, your baby's lungs are the only system not fully mature. And by mature, we're not saying that the rest of your ...

Counting Down!

Hard to believe our little guy will be here in 2 months (give or take).  Seems like not too long ago I was standing in the bathroom in shock!  Wow, how times flies. Baby F (still nameless) is active and growing (as you can see from the newest photos).  I am officially in the third trimester (apparently there is great debate on when that actually starts).  The second trimester went fairly well, although I did not get that burst of energy everyone claims to get back around that time.  I am thinking my iron deficiency had something to do with that.  The doctor found the iron deficiency toward the end of the second trimester, so the energy I did have with the help of the supplements was short lived--go figure! The third trimester has slowed me down a lot.  I move a lot slower, I rest a lot more and it seems everything is swollen (my poor feet ache and swell with even the simplest of errands).  My tailbone has never hurt worse and my back really ac...

Busy, Busy!

Mommy has been so busy lately I have not had time to blog!  So many little things going on... where to start?! I've started a new work-from-home job that keeps me really busy.  I am scoring assessments online which sounds a lot easier than it is!  It's very time consuming and exhausting---staring/sitting at a computer all day (especially when you're 7 months pregnant--it's uncomfortable to say the least!).  Scoring takes place every other month so it should not demand too much of my time (other than the two weeks I have to dedicate my time and energy to sitting down and getting the job done!).  We'll see how the schedule works out after our little guy arrives.  I may have to accept it as something temporary to pass the time for now (wish I would have found it a little earlier on in the pregnancy).  Oh well--we'll see how it goes! We had a doctor's appointment this morning.  Mommy weighed in at 115lbs--that's a gain of 20lbs (the goal for me i...

Rounding Third... Already?!

26 weeks, 5 days pregnant Kevin really gets a kick out of seeing the baby move! So we're now 27 weeks and 2 days into this journey and looking forward to the third trimester!  All is well--Baby F is kicking, jabbing, somersaulting and resting.  His schedule right now is wonderful (he goes to sleep between 10-11pm (whenever mommy finally slows down), sleeps through the night and wakes around 7:30am.  I doubt it will last, but it's sort of nice right now (allows mommy some rest time--occasionally we even nap in the afternoon!).  Although the mid-day breaks are becoming less common as time goes on--most afternoons our little guy is very active! Mommy is doing really well.  I'm getting used to the back ache and tail bone pain (or perhaps I am choosing to ignore it).  I notice it more when I need to switch positions on the couch or while sleeping. I do get swollen toes, feet and ankles when I've been on my feet too long.  I feel like I am constantly hun...
