Good Fortune, All in Good Fun!

My Facebook page reminded me of a fortune I got in a cookie a few weeks before I found out I was pregnant. I usually don't believe in those sort of things, but this one I must have found particularly touching, as I saved it, even displaying it on the fridge. It read "Good news is coming your way--it will be here any day." Could my fortune cookie have predicted this wonderful miracle? Do any of you believe in that sort of stuff?

Before you answer that, let me tell you what my Facebook fortune cookie revealed today. It read "Get ready! Good Fortune comes in Bunches." Hmm, this fortune leaves me sort of worried (especially after talking to hubby's Grandma a few weeks ago--those of you who were there and/or heard about her prediction know what I am talking about). Does this fortune and my previous fortune relate to one another? Are we the next Jon & Kate? Gosh, I am all for miracles, but WOW! Could you imagine? I hate to sound ungrateful, but gosh, no thank you, fortune God's!

Or, am I being possessed by the evil pregnancy brain again? What do you think? Am I reading too far into this? Can a fortune cookie really predict your future? Does an online fortune cookie really count? :0)

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. 25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today! Hard to believe! Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up). I weighed in at a whopping 109.8! My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special! Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!). Kevin's response "WHOA!" And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!" Ha! So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain! I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle." Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!
