Been a While...

Its been a while and we have some catching up to do!  About 3 weeks ago, I took some photos of my belly (this is when we first started noticing I had a very small "pooch" or in other words, when we noticed my stomach was no longer "flat").  I was about 7 weeks, almost 8 weeks at the time (sorry it took me so long to post its been a busy couple of weeks!).

Don't know if you see it or not, guess I notice it the most since I am obviously the most familiar with my body.  Around this time, my pants started to fit a bit more snug and were a little less comfortable (hence the reason I am wearing sweat pants in the photos).  Now that I am 10 weeks I am noticing even more of a "pooch" but, again nothing anyone would notice!  Hopefully we will get some more photos posted here soon (there are some plans in the making).

So, I thought blogging today might help me keep my mind off of feeling yucky.  I was supposed to substitute this afternoon, but absolutely could not pull myself together this morning!  I woke up early (a major accomplishment lately)  but the feeling of pride wore off as soon as I got out of bed and realized I had a headache and felt queasy.  After eating breakfast I felt a little better, but am certainly not myself today.  I am truly looking forward to the day I have more energy, don't have to force food down my throat and wake feeling less queasy!  They say the second trimester is when these symptoms begin to taper off (although I know some of my blog readers will disagree--from experience)  but, for my sake, lets hope it does indeed get better in a few weeks!

Also, we were encouraged by MANY people to order our crib sooner rather than later.  Unfortunately, the crib we are interested in is out of stock (and has been for some time).  So, we're eagerly awaiting it coming back in stock.  We've considered purchasing a different brand (one that is equally safe and durable) but, it too is out of stock!  So we're not having much luck in that area!  I am hoping one (or the other) becomes available soon, but we have discussed the fact that the baby probably won't get any use of out of the crib for the first few weeks/months anyways, so we're not in dire need just yet.

We had a lovely visit with family over the Thanksgiving vacation.  Baby and Mommy ate plenty of healthy (and sometimes not-so-healthy) meals.  Both sets of family have grown/changed so much over the past few years.  We feel so blessed to be a part of all these new experiences.

We hope everyone had a beautiful Thanksgiving.  Now, to finish all that Christmas shopping (I am doing all of my shopping by internet this year--I know,  I know, I am super pathetic!).  I am pretty much done with my shopping, just a couple more small gifts needed for landlords, co-workers, mailman, etc.  Well that's it (for now)... will post again when we know/experience more!

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
