Sleep patterns: He usually eats, we change half way through the feeding (Liam falls asleep half way through), he finishes eating and is usually asleep when the feeding ends. In the day time he will sleep for 2-3 hrs (usually mommy has to wake him to feed him, occasionally he wakes himself). Most nights he sleeps for 2-4 hrs, but every third night or so he seems to have a difficult time sleeping--waking mommy and daddy almost every 20 minutes until around 5-6am where he seems to pass out and want to sleep until 10am! Crazy boy... that's not the way it works!
Personality: We call him "Lazy Liam" because he's so laid back and spends most of his day sleeping. Sometimes I wonder if he's just really laid back, scared or taking it all in (or a combination of the three).
Looks: Some say he looks like his daddy as a baby (when I get my baby photo, I shall post both photos so we can compare). Most say he looks like mommy. Other than that he is definitely growing (his wrinkled skin is filling in) and chubby cheeks are starting to appear. We are anxious to see what he weighs in at during his next appt. Wed. His hair and eyes are getting lighter everyday (we're hoping he keeps those blue eyes--like mommy!).
Milestones: Liam is able to take his pacifier out of his mouth. Getting it back in is a job for Mom & Dad--I think he enjoys this game! He is fitting in some newborn outfits (finally) although some of his preemie outfits also fit him! His newborn diapers are a bit too big, but the preemie diapers are too small. So he is in an awkward "in between" stage right now.
His neck muscles are getting stronger every day (he's been holding his head up from day 2). You can tell he is counting down the days until he can hold that head up on his own! He loves trying to roll (he's been doing this since day 2 or 3). He gets his legs and waist over to the side but obviously doesn't have the strength to complete the rotation just yet. Finally, his vision seems to be improving a bit--he loves gazing at our faces and looking around the house (another thing he's done since day 1). Liam just loves to take it all in!
Liam has been a very busy boy:
