Moving... again!

So the title of this post was actually geared toward the process of us moving about 40 miles from here (typical of us, everywhere we've lived we move in, move to a new place and then move to the next duty station--which I thought was impossible in WA, since we only lived their 2 yrs. In other words--we're no strangers to the moving process!). Anyways, I've realized the title also applies to lil' Lemmie, as well. Kevin got a promotion--he's taking over an office, so we're moving to the base nearby and Liam is all over the place... so I guess we've got a 2-for-1.

Liam is helping me with the move by: getting stuck between the couch and end table, waiting until I unloaded all of the DVD's from the cabinet and then promptly shook it until it fell over and hit the wall, when I laid the cabinet down he crawled over to it, climbed it and stood on top of it while playing with the fireplace (that we had to cover w/ cardboard over the weekend so a certain somebody wouldn't get hurt, as he loves to open and close the glass), he found a plastic bag (which I thought was safe for him to toss around) until I noticed him pulling at it and then putting something in his mouth, so I had to fish out a piece of plastic bag from his mouth. He's been into everything (much of it he's unpacked after I packed it). Moving is a blast (especially when you're going at it alone) but Liam is making it so much more.... interesting! Ha!

This boy is NUTS! He is into anything and everything these days. When he's not busy exploring, he's trying to walk using his dinosaur walker toy or the furniture. This stage is so much fun, but so exhausting. I feel so incredibly pathetic. I told Kevin--we better have our next one soon, before I get much older! Ha!

We've expanded Liam's menu selection! He has started eating snacks which consist of: cheese, cottage cheese (thanks to my SIL for that suggestion), whole wheat toast w/ all natural jelly or cinnamon, cheddar/plain organic crackers, organic yogurt puffs, veggie puffs, cinnamon puffs and sometimes I just steam up some carrots or apples and offer him pieces. And today he had blueberries (we often put them in his oatmeal and yogurt) but today he ate them straight and LOVED them. I could not get them in fast enough. This boy LOVES to eat--he hasn't turned down a single thing... yet.

Although you have to be really careful with him. He is so interested in getting the next bite or piece that he stores them in his cheeks or back of his mouth. The other day he started choking (turning red and all) so I had to fish out the cracker I had just put in, only to find SEVERAL crackers in there. Guess he thinks we'll run out of food if he doesn't rush through it, so we're working on slowing him down a bit!

It's been a lot of fun watching him explore new foods, but it is a daunting task to keep a variety of foods in stock and offer a different menu selection daily. VERY interesting stage, but we're enjoying it (minus the choking incident).

Speaking of stages, Liam has decided he does not wish to nap longer than 35-45 minutes for mama. He'll nap 1-1.5 hours for daddy on the weekends, but not so during the weekdays (I guess he just really wants to hang out with me). He fights and fights me on the naps and then only sleeps a short amount of time, so I've decided to give in! I let him stay up as long as he wants (which was almost 4 hrs this morning and 3 hrs this afternoon). He napped 40-45 minutes this morning and 1.5 hours this afternoon, so I guess it's working. Only problem is he is due to nurse about 15 minutes before he goes down, so I am basically nursing him to sleep. NOT a habit I wanted to start, but we have to do what we have to do!

Auntie Kimber bought Liam this onesie... too cute, but Kevin says he hardly looks Portuguese. *smile*

*Knocking on our wooden desk* The past two mornings Liam has slept until 7am (he usually rises at 6am, still tired, but the only way to get him back down is to nurse him). We LOVE the new wake up time and Liam is happier too--much more rested and ready for the day. Hoping this sticks... and hopeful that when we spring forward we'll be waking @8am. Ha! Is that too ambitious? Honestly, we're good with 7, lil' Man, so let's just shoot for that.

Okay, so I need some responses on this part of my post because I am feeling super guilty. I'd like to blame the move for my lack of time/effort, but we've just started packing, so I cannot blame it on that... I am TERRIBLE at keeping up with Liam's baby book lately and am afraid many of the moments have passed us by. I do keep a calendar of all his "milestones" but I mostly use this blog as a baby album of sorts. Please tell me I am not the only one who is *ahem* too busy (lazy) about this?! Kevin tells me not to worry, as Liam won't care when he's older, but I find that hard to believe. I know I enjoyed looking at my baby book (once or twice). Now that Liam is so active, I spend my days chasing after him and after he's in bed I am too exhausted. Someone please make me feel better about myself on this one. Please?!

Well, lots more packing to be done. Who am I kidding?! It's American Idol time. Good night all!

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
