Lorelei Rose is 3 months old. And her biggest news is: the last two nights she has slept 8 hours! I was okay with her 5-6 hour stretches and then cuddling the remainder of the night in my bed, BUT I am also enjoying moving in bed freely ALL night ;) Little lady sleeps in her crib and seems to prefer it that way!
Wears: 0-3 month clothes & NB pants (what's up with our kids & their no butts/no hips?) Diapers: we just bought Costco's 1-2 Weight: we weighed her a few days ago and she was 10lbs, 9oz Length: need to do that ;)
See that curled up hand? She loves to suck on her hands. She has found her thumb, but doesn't yet use it to self soothe!
Unless she's hungry or tired, this is Lorelei. Smiling and happy! I was looking at ultrasounds the other day. She smiled a lot in the womb (several shots said "happy girl")... I could NOT agree more. You're such a happy, sweet girl!
This little sweetie laughed at her brother the other night. It was too cute and we were all stunned. She saved it for when daddy was home (by the way, it's sooo nice to see daddy around, we don't miss recruiting at all!). She has mastered rolling from her side to her tummy too, but so far that's it. Not sure how she'll advance this skill, since she's ALWAYS held during the day (more us wanting to hold her, than her "needing" it, but she does love to be cuddled & who wouldn't want to cuddle that face?!).
She DESPISES car trips in her Chicco seat... remind you of anyone... *ahem* Liam! My kids hate this seat. We tried out a spare convertible seat from Kevin's truck the other day for a short road trip and it went WELL. She even put herself to sleep in it! WOW! Hmmm, like Liam we may make the transition to a big girl seat sooner than we anticipated!
She's a talker. Lorelei loves to chat your ear off. She coos, smiles, giggles and makes cute little noises. She always responds after I ask a question. I think she likes gossiping with her mommy.
The kids are so different. Lorelei definitely sleeps better and is overall just more content with life! And the past couple days, no matter how hard we try rocking her or "bouncing" her to sleep, she's been happier being held facing out & putting herself to sleep (btw Lorelei you nap in the morning (9ish), afternoon (12/1ish), evening (5ish) and bed time is around 9/10ish.
I love my Liam equally, but this gal is hands down an easier baby! Liam was connected to me for 6 months, despised sleep & didn't become independent until 12 months! This gal is already spreading her wings! Not sure how I feel about that!
We are settled into our new home! We hung the last photo frame on Sunday. Liam LOVES it here (playground 10 ft from the front door!) and Lorelei honestly seems happy to have a crib and places to sit/play. Poor girl had NOTHING for so long. Feeling so blessed these days for the small things.
And for these cutie pies of course...
I feel so blessed to have this little lady in my life. I remember having several bleeds while pregnant with you. I remember the worry, the stress I felt when I thought I'd lost you again & again. I remember thinking I'd never hold you, that something would go wrong at some point. I am so thankful that you're here, I'm so grateful to hold you, kiss you & stare at you. I love you more than words can ever express. You & your brother are my whole world!
*Update 3/9/13* Lorelei rolled last night from her tummy to her back! And I forgot to mention, she's bringing her hands together and trying to swat toys every once in a while. Busy girl, learning lots!
