You are 4 months old today Miss Lorelei Rose. You are the sweetest little girl I think has ever blessed this planet. Your happy, laid back, lovable and sweet. You literally stop EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE we go. They comment how beautiful you are, what a gorgeous smile you have & I even had a lady stop me at Walmart yesterday to tell me "you're so blessed" as I was holding you in an aisle. She didn't have to tell me... I KNOW it! Though, she didn't see your brother so she didn't realize I am double blessed--your brother adores you by the way & you adore him just as much... truly warms my heart, no greater feeling in the world than to see the love & bond you two share.
These photos were difficult to capture because you don't sit still. You're constantly trying to sit up or straighten out to get moving. I don't think it will be long and we will have a sitting pretty gal & shortly after a mobile one. That sure makes mama's heart heavy, my baby is growing all too fast. Speaking of growing, you weighed in at a little over 11lbs at the doctor 2 weeks ago. You're an itty bitty gal, but there's a whole lot of sweetness packed into that little body!
You're always sucking on your fingers. You prefer all your other fingers over your thumb. You even self soothe at night--your brother could never do that, so for this I am grateful. Speaking of nights, those are not as smooth as they used to be. You wake 1-2 times a night now (with the exception of last night, our all day marathon of errands knocked you out for 9 hours straight! Too bad I waited up for you to feed you at 11:30p.m., joke was on mommy!). For night wakings, I always feed you & sometimes you go back to sleep, sometimes you stay awake and I leave you to stare at your glowing butterfly & chat & then you cry out later when you're ready to go back to sleep on your tummy (yes you're a tummy sleeper!). Sometimes, the horrible gas you always have keeps you awake and you cry looking for comfort. We do our best to help, but you always spit up the gas drops. I found a natural supplement that seems to soothe you better, when you need it.
You're wearing a few NB clothes still, but mostly 0-3 months and a few 3 month clothes fit. Just depends on the brand. Your feet are too small for shoes, so I usually just put these little fabric sandals on you that I tie at the ankle to keep them on! Works like a dream and we get tons of compliments on them (& your cute toes!). You're in the 1/2 Costco diapers (they do a combo size). Not sure how much you weigh or what you measure, as your doctor appt. isn't for another week. Maybe we will get out the scale and measure/weigh you today!
You roll over quit a bit in your crib (once a night, every other day) but never anywhere else. Though we're pretty busy or outside a lot, so I don't think you get the opportunity a whole lot. You like sitting in your exercauser and we just took the jumperoo out. You don't jump, but you seem to like sitting in it and playing toys (you really love when brother plays them with you!).
You have yourself on a schedule (& pretty much have since you were 2 months old). You wake around 8 (if your brother doesn't wake you first) and eat, play then take a morning nap. Morning nap ranges from 1-2 hours (depending on how loud brother is that day) and then you're up for a bit before lunch time. You watch brother and mommy eat (sometimes daddy too!) and then eat, then I put you down for a nap and then your brother. Your afternoon nap is usually 2 hours because it is QUIET in the house. After that nap, you're up to play until around dinner time. You sit with us while we eat, then you eat and then nap a quick 1 hour or less cat nap. You're always ready for bed around 8/8:30.
You adore your dad and love snuggling up for a good nap with him (& he's happy to oblige!). You think everything Liam does is hilarious and he loves to try and impress you.
Lorelei Rose, you are beautiful, sweet and so happy. You are such a blessing. I know it's because your ours, but sometimes I could just eat you up. Your are just so precious. I'm just as wrapped as daddy is! Worth every heart ache we endured, the 8 weeks I spent glued to my couch & the two scares we had while I was carrying you. We are soooo thankful!
