Lorelei went on her second airplane ride to California on August 1st. By the way, both of our kids traveled for 20 hours total without one tear or fit. We were so proud of them both! The next day she woke up with her two bottom teeth poking through her gums! And she's working on the top two now. And you wouldn't even know she's teething, she's still happy go lucky and pleasant. Amazing.
Based on how effortlessly Lorelei is pulling up & standing, I'm convinced we will have an early walker. I didn't think any child could be more busy than Liam, but Lorelei is proving me wrong on that one. She is into everything (light sockets, cabinets, putting things in her mouth, etc). I am one busy mama these days!
Lorelei still has a healthy appetite and has added squash (yum), peas (not so yum!), eggs (so-so), pears (love), apricot (was pretty tart so she didn't love it), cottage cheese (she likes it but she definitely notices the texture change), & Cheerios to her menu (she can pick the cereal up & bring it to her mouth unassisted).
She officially says "dada"
One day I sat telling her "ma ma ma ma" a thousand times. I said "da da da da" twice and it stuck. As we drove to pick her brother up from school that day she was "da da da'ing" up in the back seat. She has since mumbled what sounds like "ma ma" a couple times but nothing definite (& she certainly doesn't understand what either means!).
Early on in her seventh month she finally rolled from her back to tummy. My pediatrician said she could do this but was being lazy. Once I stopped doing it for her she proved she can indeed do it on her own! Brat.
She broke 14lbs a few weeks back and I am hoping she is close to 15lbs now. She is 25in. long. We are streadily progressing into 6 month clothes, though bloomers/shorts usually fall off of her. Her cloth diapers usually help keep them on, but since we are traveling, she's been wearing disposables, which don't do much to keep her bottoms on. Something about our children and their slim waists/no butt bodies, I guess.
I hate to jinx it, but she started sleeping through the night (down between 7:30-8 and up at 6/7ish) right before we left Hawaii. It took her 2-3 nights here in California to adjust (one or two brief wake ups) but she is again sleeping through the night (going to bed a little later, due to visiting) but overall, I'd say she is doing great with her sleeping, despite the shift in schedule and time change. She is officially done with her third nap. She naps twice a day anywhere between 1-3 hours. She's delightful when she wakes up despite how long she sleeps or if you have to wake her. DEFINITELY not like her brother!
Grammy taught her how to shake her head yes. It is adorable! She's such a crack up and this video is proof of that. I just adore this sweet girl and her preciousness!
