Lorelei is 1!

Our stunning little girl turned 1 on December 6, 2013! We celebrated with some 1 yr old photos and after we met daddy and Liam at Denny's for a breakfast lunch (her favorite foods!). We had so much fun celebrating with our little lady. The following day, Lorelei was surrounded by friends for her party. We had a brunch complete with chocolate chip waffles, strawberries, fruit and cake! Mmmm! Lorelei was showered in love and gifts and was so grateful to everyone who helped make the day that much more special!

At her one year check up (which was actually at about 12.5 months) we were SHOCKED to NOT get griped at over her weight. LO is GROWING! She weighed 19.07lbs at her check up on Dec. 26! She was 15lbs about 2 months before that appointment. That puts her into the 14th percentile (gaining on the chart instead of being at the very bottom or OFF the chart completely). She is in the 36th percentile for height (28.94in) and her head measured 45.5cm (68th percentile).

For the first time in her life, she is wearing her true size in clothes (12 mo) and even some 18 mo. clothes. She wears size 3 diapers now. We quit cloth diapers (they were getting to be a little too much to handle now that she explores so many new foods!). Size 3 shoes, some size 4's. She talks A LOT (doggy, daddy, bubba, ball, eye, yay, papa, ma, milk, lady, baby-to her dolls, weeee!). She waves hi/bye and gives high fives! She is VERY strict about her bedtime, wants to be in bed at 8. She wakes between 7-9am. Super durable (with a big brother around). Happy, go lucky, SUGAR AND SPICE! Sweet, but plenty of attitude. CURIOUS little lady who always wants to be bigger than she is. Loves to sit in "big kid" chairs at the library and brothers school. I call her goldilocks because she'll try every chair. She's still a decent eater, but a bit more picky these days. Faves remain: yogurt, breakfast foods, cottage cheese, string cheese, graham crackers, beans, apples, MILK! Is getting picky about fruit and veggies. Lorelei WEANED and is on cows milk. She didn't have much of a choice, a friend of ours babysat her while we moved (Dec 17th) and mama wasn't available to feed her. My friend gave her cows milk (from a bottle... gasp!) and she took it. So we just kept giving it in a bottle and VOILA! it worked. We'll worry about weaning from the bottle later ;) Lo has 6 teeth, she added the two side teeth to her top two (& her bottom 2!). She tolerates brushing them "okay"... especially if her brother does it before her ;)

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
