Lorelei at 18 months

Lorelei has started putting herself to sleep at night (took some mommy/daddy coaxing).

Her vocabulary is INSANE.  If we or bubba challenge her to say something she will definitely try it. My FAVE is "sis I love you" & she says "eww tooo" PRECIOUS!
Some of her words:
Mama, daddy, bubba, doggy, choo choo, bird, apple, yeah, yay, car, copter (caca), hi, bye, ball, cake (cakey), you too (eww too), baby, milk (gilk), shoe (chew).

She waves at people and says "hi" but clings to mama if someone else tries to hold her.  She loves her baby dolls & pushing her stroller around.  She loves trains,  dogs & mickey mouse.  She's an outdoor girl, she would play outside ALL DAY if I let her.  She loves talking on the phone.  She's a daddy's girl,  her daddy is her world,  she runs to the door when she hears him come home.  Lately she is really into accessorizing with a necklace and her favorite hat and she loves when we call her a "pretty girl" after she gets dolled up. She will even try to put on mama's makeup!

She is copying Liam a lot-she likes to run to the bathroom, get on the stool and wash her hands while singing "a, bee, sheee, dee" so, so cute! It is your typical anything he can do, I can do too!

She's a somewhat picky Eater BUT will try almost anything she sees in your hands.  She loves her milk, cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese,  apples, apple bananas, cereal,  cake,  ice cream!

She's actively climbing almost anything,  including our couch and attempting to go over our half wall.  SCARY! crazy crazy girl.  She never slows down,  she's happy go lucky but sugar and spice.

She is a solid little girl almost as tall as her brother and growing fast! She has her top & bottom 4 teeth & one of each 1st molars (top & bottom).

And as of today (July 2), Miss Lorelei has decided she no longer wants to sleep in a crib. She climbed out of it this morning and again at nap time. She is sleeping peacefully in her big girl daybed tonight. She was reluctant, but after some rocking, she accepted the new bed. Let's see how this new adventure in independence turns out! Wish us luck! :)

This little girl makes my heart so, so, so happy. She is an absolute blessing in our lives. So full of love, zest, happiness and spirit. Truly a breath of fresh air. I just feel so thankful for her! Big hugs and kisses sweet little mama!

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
