My wonderful sister in law emailed me today and told me where I can go to get an H1N1 vaccination. I called my doctor to see when they were expecting the vaccination to arrive and they said they had been taken off the list, as there are no more vaccinations, so it could be quite a while.
So, I called the location my sister in law told me about and they set me up with an appointment for this afternoon! FINALLY! Two weeks from now I will be back at work (if the morning sickness and lack of energy allows me to). Poor students! A moody, hormonal pregnant woman running their classroom. Good Luck to them! I am so excited, in two weeks I can LEAVE the house!
I am also grateful to be up, moving around, not sick or queasy and full of energy this morning. I don't know why this is, the only thing I changed in my schedule was taking a walk yesterday, so I may try that again. I am so thankful to be among the living again (even if it only lasts a day). I will cherish this day and celebrate it by doing some housework! Hope all of my blog readers are having a beautiful day as well! Enjoy it!
Thanks Michelle for the information! You have no idea how much I appreciate it!
**UPDATE** After doing further research, I learned that the Public Health Dept. is NOT like my doctor's office and is currently offering what they have left (which is the vaccine that contains thimerosal-mercury preservative). I have called all over the State of CA looking for the preservative free-single dose version. Of course, no one knows when they will receive it. I was told to ask my doctor to request the preservative-free version of the vaccine, although the nurse did not seem too confident that they can do this. So, cross your fingers, I am hoping a preservative free version is in my near future. Until then, today's appt. will likely be canceled. There is just not enough research on the effects thimerosal has on the fetus.
**UPDATE #2** WHEN my doctor's office gets the H1N1 vaccination in, it will be the thimerosal mercury-free version. However, the question is "when" will they get it in? So, my choices are to wait for the thimerosal free version or go to the health dept. to have the shot with thimerosal in it. Kevin and I have decided both alternatives are undesirable, but we'd prefer to keep me at home until I can get the thimerosal free version of the shot. Let's hope we've made the right decision.
