I'm on a Roll...

I'm in my 7th week of life and have been very busy & learning lots of new things.  Mommy says I've rolled myself from the laying back position to my side then my tummy.  I really like to suck on my thumb to  (although most of the time I'm sucking on my other fingers or YOUR fingers if you're not careful with them).  I've started drooling a bit, mommy's not sure what that's all about. I love to stand--if someone helps me balance I can stand for nearly a minute--I'm so incredibly strong!  I've found my tongue & will sometimes stick it out if you stick yours out at me (sometimes it takes a couple tries).  I also like making bubbles with my mouth.

I am becoming more independent--at 6 weeks I napped by myself a couple of times for 5-15 minutes.  At 7 weeks (today actually!) I napped  for 2 hours (which is how mommy is getting this post done right now!).  Also, I have slept through the night 3 nights in a row, then had an off night (my first night home after a visit to Hanford) and slept through the night again last night (mommy considers "sleeping through the night" to be anywhere from 5-7 hours).  Mommy & Daddy LOVE this new routine!

I talk & smile a lot now and even giggle from time to time (I finally giggled for Daddy last night--he loved it!).  Mommy has a difficult time getting my talking, smiles & giggles on camera because I just stop what I'm doing & stare at it!  See for yourself...

Mommy really needs to remember to hold the camera in the right direction!

Mommy has to catch me talking when I'm not looking at her (sorry it's so dark--my room doesn't have the best lighting, but it's me--I promise!).

Sleeping in my new chair... only lasted 10 minutes (that's how long it took before I realized I was no longer in mommy's arms) 6 weeks old
But it was so peaceful (for both of us)
Sitting in my chair (6 wks old)
Playing with mommy... so much fun!
In the middle of a giggle
Silly faces (6 wks old)
My toys are so fun
Crooked smile
I make mommy laugh!
Reading a story to mommy--she reads so many to me, I thought I'd return the favor!

We went to Hanford this past weekend to help my Grandma/Grandpa move. Daddy spent most of the weekend helping Grandpa move while mommy & Grandma spent *some* time moving but *most* of their time loving on ME! I also loved on my Auntie Kimber & played with my cousin Braxten. Oh & my Great Aunt Shan & my mommy's Cousin-in-Law Andrea came over to love on me! WOW--I sure am special to a lot of people.

On my 7 week old birthday, we spent some time with Daddy's family! My Great Aunt Mary Jane & Great Uncle Jerry had a lovely BBQ at their home. This was my first time meeting my extended family... boy it was fun (and a bit overwhelming! what a large family I have!). My Auntie Patty gave me a bottle and loved me up.  My Grammy was there and calmed me down when I was fussy.  My daddy's Cousin-in-Law Shandra held me and soothed me when I began screaming at her.  Oh and my Papa was fun/silly, as always.  The entire family loved me up and BOY! did I sleep good that night.

Before the BBQ my mommy took me to meet my Great Grandma Vava.  I really wasn't in the mood to meet anyone, but Vava was able to soothe me for a little while.  I really liked pulling her long hair!
Hanging with my Great Auntie Shan... VERY fussy, beyond time for bed! (6 wks old)
Check out the hot ladies I get to hang with!  Andrea... you'll have your lil' guy in your arms soon!

I am in a 0-3 outfit here... more are starting to fit every day, some are still a bit big

I am getting hungry can you tell?
C'Mon Mom...
My first nap on my own!  Mommy tried Dr. Karp's technique (the 5 S's--swaddle, side/stomach, shush, swing, suck).  I napped like this for 2 hours!!! which is unheard of if I'm not in someone's arms.  Fluke or will I do it again?!
Mommy says I am really growing (check out my chubby cheeks)
Okay, I've truly had enough now Mom!
And just in case you didn't get to see me this past week, my mommy & daddy said to tell you not to worry--I am just more adorable, more precious and bigger than you remember me (9lbs, 1oz as of last week Thursday).  Mommy & Daddy feel more & more blessed each day they get to watch me grow!

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
