22 Months

On April 13, 2012 (HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDMA/MOM) Liam turned 22 months old!

This was the only photo our sweet (& strong willed) toddler wanted to take! So, that was the end of our 22 month photo session ;)

Liam has really blossomed in language development. He talks up a STORM! From "truck" to "choo-choo" to "bye-bye" (the sweetest little goodbye you've ever heard) and even starting to put words together ("dada chooz" (shoes) or "got you!"). He has the tiniest, sweetest little voice and it's so nice to be able to communicate with him. He makes his wishes pretty clear (hands me a remote and says "doogers" for diggers, which means Bob the Builder) or "app lll" when he wants an apple. His "bank you" for thank you and "peeaass" for please is pretty adorable too! Oh this stage is sooo fun!

Besides the many words he says, he's also pretending to read. Every night we read a book called "goodnight little kitten." Very simple text, basically just mama and dada telling their baby kitten to go to bed. Randomly Liam will pick up the book, mumble a bunch of words I don't understand followed with a "mama" or a "dada" depending on which character it is. Such a smart little boy!

He follows a series of directions very well. He'll pick up toys at night and put them where directed (usually, unless distracted or hyper), will pick up and then throw away trash when asked, grab a toy and bring it to you, etc. Very helpful and makes mama and dada very proud! He can also put his shoes on himself (sometimes the wrong feet, but it's progress). Now he's starting to take an interest in dressing himself too. And he's learned to open doors (yikes!) so we're Liam-proofing those! VERY independent this boy!

He LOVES throwing, catching and kicking a ball, LOVES trucks, tractors and trains (he's even starting to like race cars). He's charming, he's well liked and so intelligent. His daddy and I feel so blessed to have this young man in our lives!

Stats:
Weight-26 lbs
Height- 33 inches (approx., difficult to get an accurate measurement on this active boy!)
Diapers- size 4 (he tells me "no" when asked if he wants to go on the potty; although he will sit on it for a second, so that's progress!)
Clothes- still wearing 18 mo pants (skinny waist since birth) & wears 18mo-24/2t shirts & pajamas

To close, here's our big boy riding his "new to him" quad!

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
