We're 28 weeks (or are we?). I'm sitting at the hospital doing my glucose test. Ahh, yes the wonderful glucose test. Every woman despises it & quite frankly so does the already wild Miss Lorelei!
So lil' lady measured yet another week behind (26 weeks instead of 28). Now I have to come in every 2 weeks to be measured. If she falls 1 more week behind, an ultrasound will be mandatory to check growth/confirm dating! Grrr!
In better news, I'm gaining weight steadily & at a great rate (108.7 today, 94 when I started). Midwife seemed really happy with my progress, she said I'm gaining between 1-1.5lbs a week. She said that's great & let's shoot for a total gain of 20-25lbs (a lot more realistic than the doc I had with Liam!). At the lab, I got some good advice from a fellow pregger on how to gain more (carbs, carbs, carbs!).
Lorelei's heart rate was perfect (158-162!). She was moving a lot (she's always hated the Doppler!). I asked why so high still & the midwife said that's normal when a baby is being that active! As she literally chased her around my tummy after getting the heartbeat, then Lorelei would move, she said "you've got an active lil' baby in there!" Oh lady you have NO idea! And thanks to this glucose drink I may have one born prematurely from my side as I sit here! ;)
It's crazy to believe that 9 weeks from this appt. last time, we had a baby boy in our arms. I'm hoping this one waits at least 10 weeks (so daddy will be here for the birth) & maybe even more if she's measuring that teeny tiny!
Miss Lorelei--keep cooking! Mommy & daddy are still busy preparing for you (definitely need more preemie clothes) & I've got to get your bassinet from
auntie & your/our room combo all set up here soon. You just cook (& grow). 10-12 weeks sounds great to us! We love you sooo much lil' lady! See you soon, but not too soon =)
