On Saturday, we had a small gathering with immediate family in our hometown to reveal the gender of Baby F! A few days before our ultrasound, we decided to do something special for the reveal, since we were unable to keep the secret that we were expecting and tell that news in a creative way! So the idea for our gender reveal party was born.
We brainstormed and researched so many ideas for our gender party reveal and found many cute ones, but most we could not do because the party would need to be done at our house (and we live too far to ask people to do that for us). (If anyone ever needs gender reveal ideas, let me know, I am a world of knowledge now!). Anyways, we were on our own for an idea and finally decided we'd get a room at a pizza place in Hanford and have them spell out the gender on the pizzas! A few days later my mom offered to make cupcakes in both pink and blue so everyone could hold "their guess" for the photo I desperately wanted to put in the baby album (Kevin refused to make people wear pink and blue). Also, my sister added pink and blue jelly belly's to the table to really spruce things up!
We had a really great time at the party, even with all of the mix-ups (like the toppings on the pizza baking in so much that you could not see what they said and having to come up with another way to reveal the gender) and plans that fell through (like my "?" mark tee shirt I wanted to wear to the party that could not be delivered in enough time) or the fact that I was having so much fun I basically forgot to take ANY photos! Oh well, when all was said and done I think everyone had fun (we did!) and it was a unique way to tell everyone we're having a son!
Here are some photos of the event (next time, mother to be should not have to double as photographer!)

Eating their cupcakes after we "convinced" them they may hold a secret, all the while Kevin and I are thinking "how long does it take to make a pizza?"

For the record, Kimber thought BLUE, but had to be with our nephew Braxten who thought PINK! We're also missing our nephew Ryan who thought PINK!
A large group who thought BLUE (minus Ryan who thought PINK!). Missing from the photo: Aunt Michelle & Uncle David who thought BLUE (and maybe our almost 4 month old niece Natalie!).
Everyone anxiously awaiting the news (they did not want to eat the cupcakes, they were only interested in prodding, prying and trying to convince us to tell them RIGHT THEN and THERE!)
Here they are...
It's a.... BOY!!!! Boy group wins!
The reaction... (this photo did not come out so good)!
Okay, you know NOW let's eat!
Our nephews Braxten and Ryan playing...
and playing...
and playing!
My mom playing with Ryan
Thank you to all who attended (and for all of the gifts, which we truly did not expect, but appreciate more than you know). We hope you all had as much fun as we did!
