Phew! So much going on here in the course of a day or two. I think Liam is just about walking! He will go from the sitting or squatting position up to a full stand and walk away (as opposed to Kevin or me standing him up and letting go). He made it about 10 steps yesterday before he fell down, stood up and took off again! He repeated this stunt over and over again yesterday and is back at it today! I have been trying to catch it on video, but when he knows he has your attention, he gets so excited he either reverts back to crawling or tries to run at you which results in him falling. I WILL get video soon though, I am determined!
I'd like to mention a few things I forgot in the 11 month post. Liam is signing milk as he nurses, when he wants to nurse and as he eats solid foods. He certainly understands that sign means he will get something to eat! Liam has a new obsession with babies. He loves his friends baby dolls, so I bought him one. He also loves when I point to the photo of him on the wall and say baby. Now, if you ask him where the baby is he will point to the nearest picture frame (we'll have to work on that!).
We're also getting to a point where there are little to no tears for bed time/nap time. We change his diaper, read a story (or a couple of stories, depending on how tired he is) and then set him down in his crib with his blankie, a couple books and a stuffed toy (or three). Not sure what happens after that, but he eventually goes to sleep (used to be after a few min. of crying, lately we hear nothing but snores coming through the monitor after a while).
He is taking two naps, one around 10ish until about noon and then one around 3/3:30ish until about 4/4:30. He's pretty consistent about a 1hr 45-2 hr nap in the morning and a 1 hr nap in the afternoon. His morning nap has progressively stretched longer, I'm thinking he may be transitioning to one nap a day (but I'm going for two as long as he'll allow it!). Bed time is usually between 7:30/8pm and he is ALWAYS awake at 7am. VERY rare to sleep in past 7 around here (occasionally he's off by 15-20 min. or so... and boy do we love those days!).
Yesterday I found Liam in the spare/guest room trying to get into the bookshelf (as usual). What he doesn't know is Daddy masking taped the sliding doors shut, so he was having little success. After daddy baby proofed, I put one of his toys in front of the shelf to deter him a bit more. Well, let's just say that plan backfired. Here's how I found Mr. Liam...
