Memorial Day Weekend

We had a nice relaxing weekend--we did absolutely nothing for once, which was so nice. Figured we better take advantage of a low-key weekend since we have swim lessons, Liam's birthday and our vacation coming up. We did manage to go to a friend's BBQ on Saturday night, which was fun. The Cisnero's family always shows us a good time. They are such wonderful friends, we sure are going to miss them when they move to San Diego this fall. They won't be getting rid of us for too long though--we plan to try for orders there next!

Monday we had quite a few visitors. Michelle, David, Natalie and Baby #2 came over for a visit. We had a lot of fun chatting and watching the kids play. Sure is an entirely different world now that Liam can walk and is more toddler-like than baby. The two cousins played very well together and I really enjoyed watching them interact with one another.

After our family left, Liam caught a short nap and then his friend Caden came over to play. We were going to go bike riding, but the wind kept us indoors. So, we sat around chatting and watching the boys play. Caden is really starting to come out of his shell. Really makes me/us feel so special that he feels comfortable here. A couple of times he even gave Liam a run for his money (as you'll see in the photos!). He definitely didn't let Liam push him around (as he is too accustomed to doing with all of his little friends!). Caden sure is a sweetie.

On another note (or two)... Liam is literally climbing everything or walking everywhere these days. MOST days he walks more than he crawls, but then there are times (when he is getting tired, for example) that he reverts back to crawling as his main mode of transportation!

Thought we outsmarted him by moving the rocking chair to the center of the room (nothing to climb up to). Nope! Certainly does not take the fun out of it.

Walking... (we NEVER get a good video of him walking, he ALWAYS falls after a few steps, although that is becoming really rare now--these videos are from last week, maybe we should try again). The turns/twists always take him down, although while Auntie, Uncle & cousin Natalie were over he actually did the footing correctly and turned without falling (but we haven't seen him do it again since!).

And he's officially lost the bumper in his crib due to climbing. Not only was he starting to ruin it, but it's also a safety issue. Guess our lil' guy really is growing up!

Finally, not the greatest photo, but Liam was being such a little ham at dinner the other night... just had to share! He wanted to feed dada...

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
