This is Caden Rose, an amazing little boy who has been through a lot during his 17 months on this Earth. We are so blessed to know him/have him in our lives! For those of you who don't know, Caden had a liver transplant on July 29th and another surgery on August 10th, as he needed a biopsy and a buildup of liquid removed. Surprisingly recovery from the first surgery went better than the second, but Caden is determined and doing better and better day by day. I had no doubts--this little guy is so brave and strong, you certainly should not let his size fool you! For Caden's full story, please visit the Rose Family blog (although, I will warn you, he will break and warm your heart all at the same time): The Rose Family
I know a lot of you have been praying for Caden and ask me about him daily. I've even had people ask how they can go about making a donation to help. I discussed this with Caden's mother a while back, but at the time things were just too hectic and there were a lot of unknowns. Kevin and I tried to set something up, but we needed lots of details from Caden's parents and at the time, they had enough on their plates. Over the past few days, Caden's AMAZING parents, Jenee & Derek found time to set up an account. Caden's father writes:

"I have pretty awesome insurance through the Air Force that covers most of Caden’s major medical expenses without co-pays, but there are lots of little things that add up quickly. Caden’s medical bills are likely close to a million dollars at this point, if not higher. Going forward, just one of his immuno-suppressive drugs costs $10,000 every single year. Our co-pay on that is relatively small (compared to $10k for sure!), at least I think it is (haven’t seen a bill yet), but he will also have eight or nine other medications to take every day, each with their own co-pays every time we fill a prescription and a few over the counter drugs aren’t covered at all. We’ve had quite a few people ask if there is anything we need or if they can donate money to help pay for things. We’ve felt bad about asking for things because the insurance does pay for most of it, but some of the side-expenses are starting to add up and since people have asked, we figured we’d set something up so that they could help."
