Weekend Milkshakes, Dirt & Fun!

Friday night we treated Liam to a milkshake after dinner (his teeth hurt him so bad--he's so whiny, which is really not like him and he has been BITING me!). We were supposed to be sharing the shake, but Liam drank most of it!

Went to the garden shop on base to pick up some more flowers for mama (my new hobby). Got Liam some gloves (he LOVES to dig in the dirt, tug on my flowers, play in the hose/mud puddles... at least with gloves, I feel like I'm doing my part as cautious mama, ha!).

Liam helping Daddy mow the lawn

See Dada in the back there? His mower isn't working right, so Liam was filling in!

 He even mows sidewalks!

What a beautiful weekend it was. Friday night we ate dinner together (this is becoming rare with Kevin's grueling work schedule lately), set out for milkshakes that we brought back home to enjoy and after Liam was in bed, it was date night for mommy and daddy--we rented a movie and turned it off after 45 min., too tired to watch it, finished it during Liam's nap on Saturday. In bed before 11pm, sad I know! When did we get this old?!. Oh and when you're in the military with no family around to watch the kiddos, "date night" usually means you find something to do at home!

Saturday morning Liam woke up late (he's starting to wake around 9am lately) so we were running around trying to get breakfast done so he would make his 9:30am swim class. Kevin said they were about 10 min. late, but he still got 20 min. of swim in--he learned to use the kickboard and was kicking all over the pool (I hear--I'm not allowed to attend, Kevin and Liam say it is MAN TIME!). I may sneak in next week, as it's the last class of the session and probably our last class until Liam gets on a more predictable schedule or they change the meet up time.

We've started a tradition where the boys go get donuts after swim class, so we sat down to "brunch" (Liam had donut holes) and enjoyed our family time after the boys got home from swim. Then we headed out to town to get Liam some color crayons and shop for a gift. Liam feel asleep in the car and would not go back down when I transferred him to his crib (usually he does, it was rare for him not to go straight to sleep upon laying him in his crib). We left him in his room to have quiet time for about an hour and finished up our movie from Fri. night.

After "rest/quiet" time Liam ate a couple pieces of crayon--we decided he's not quite ready for those yet, although today he ate a piece and after fishing it out of his mouth, he watched me color, then joined for a few min., but I think it's just too "calm" of an activity for him and he moved on to playing with his monster trucks!. We decided to walk our movie back to the gas station on base, which was a nice long walk we all really enjoyed (Liam was doing his regular bird watching--he's obsessed with birds these days). When we got home, Liam and mama played while Daddy prepped the BBQ for dinner. Liam later joined daddy in the backyard and ended up naked in his pool with the water hose. This kid LOVES water and the hose, even with these crazy winds out here. Brrrr!

Sunday mama woke to Liam and Daddy serving up eggs and bacon! They let me sleep in (I never even heard them wake) and woke me up when breakfast was ready. I sure love morning breakfast with my boys! We listened to the Steelers game on the radio while we played. During half time, we took a nice long walk and enjoyed the warm weather (it's been really cold, so it was nice to have lukewarm weather).

We fixed some sprinklers and did some odd jobs around the house before prepping lunch, eating and putting Liam down for a nap. Mama and Dada relaxed during Liam's nap (Kev--football, me--blogging, catching up on emails/fb, etc.). After nap time, we went outside to pick weeds, Kevin worked on the mower and we eventually ended up at the garden center where we bought mama new flowers and Kevin's mower a spark plug. We spent the remainder of the late afternoon planting flowers, making dinner, eating and then relaxing!

Oh how I love these mellow weekends with my guys. They are limited for us (daddy returns to sea duty next summer) so we're just taking it all in and enjoying our last few months of shore duty. I must say, I'm so blessed to have these two guys! Love em' with all my heart!

Hope you all had a beautiful weekend with loved ones and friends! :)

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
