MANY New Skills

So many new things Liam has been doing over just the past few days. This kid is quite the character!

He's obsessed with the open/shut them song (he learned it in music class). He performs it pretty well. We got it on video tonight, although he didn't have one solid take on it (which is rare, I think the video camera threw him off). So here are two takes to prove he knows all the motions. Too funny. We find him doing this in the back seat of the car randomly (we listen to the cd a lot in the car). If you even say open/shut, he starts doing these motions. So cute!

Yesterday, I found my lil' guy in the backyard. Since the door was locked, I figured the only way he could have gained access was through the dog door. He confirmed my suspicions today...
In his defense, I did say we could go outside after he took a nice long nap (which he did take, right next to mama... my favorite afternoon activity these days, love snuggling my lil' man!).

I went to get his shoes and came back to a missing baby. He was outside already!

I said "Liam, where are you?" and he came back in!

Then promptly left again!

How stinkin' funny is this?

So proud of himself!

After only a couple minutes playing outside, Liam made it known that he wanted to play in his pool (it wasn't cold, but definitely not warm, the breeze made me chilly in my pants and tank!). Mama convinced him to dress a bit before climbing in that cold water!

Going in for a drink...

Got it!
About drowned himself!

Going in for more...

and more...

and more...

and more! I promise, I give my kid plenty of water and milk!

Just had to share this lil' sweater (I think it was my nephew's). This lil' bat gets so many compliments wearing this. Cutie!

Yes it has wings!

The past couple days, Liam has really started showing off his comprehension of sign language. He is signing all done, more, eat and of course milk (he's always done that one!). He is starting to get them in the right context too. All done at the end of a meal, more when he is eating and I mentioned getting something to eat this morning and he signed eat. He DEFINITELY knows the signs we've been doing for MONTHS on end. Lil' stink, I wonder how long he's had this all figured out?

He's also figured out jumping. He showed off his skills for the first time a couple nights ago. Here he is showing off again tonight!

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but it's something I want to remember, so excuse me if I'm repeating myself. Liam DEFINITELY understands directions now. For example, he will go to the bathroom with the tub if we ask him if he wants to take a bath. He'll go to the bathroom with the shower if we ask him to take a shower with Dada. He will run up to mama butt naked and soaking wet straight from the shower because Daddy tells him to go give mama a hug. I LOVE my soggy hugs! He'll go to his room at the end of the night for bed. We have a little bed time book that runs through a checklist of things he has to do before going to bed. We'll ask him if he's done each step and he'll shake his head yes or no. He's a pretty good listener (although, I'm sure the selective hearing will be his next big skill!).

And finally, tonight Liam showed off his fraction skills. Kevin made chocolate chip cookies. He cut Liam's cookie into fourths and said he was only going to give him one piece. Well, Liam had other plans! He ate his first piece and then motioned toward the stove for another. I told Kevin he definitely knew he was getting shorted! Kevin gave in and got him another piece. After that piece, he went into the kitchen and pointed at the stove. I told Kevin, he must understand fractions. After his fourth piece, he tried one more time and we told him he had his whole cookie and he was "all done"... we switched to Nilla Wafers after that. Too funny!

Liam has always been a lot of fun, but it just gets better and better every day! I love this mama gig! Love, love, love it!

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
