Catch Up!

Lots to catch up on! Some things I don't want to forget: Liam is getting much more verbal. When it is milk time he will say "gillk" for milk, he says "gorky" for Porky and a slew of the same sounds for Bruiser (not sure how to type that out!). And he is really starting to follow directions well. After his play date yesterday morning I told him to hug his friends Ethan and Annabelle goodbye. He ran from his train table in the other room to the front door and hugged each of his friends. He also lays down when you ask him to, so you can change his diaper (usually, sometimes he's much too busy to be bothered!). It's really nice that the doors of communication are beginning to open up, sure makes it a lot less quiet around here. I'm hoping soon it will make the "whining for what I want and mama better know what that means" game come to a stop! That would be so helpful.

He is having off/on days with the big boy bed transition. Monday and Tuesday I had to put him in his pack and play after 2 hours of not settling down. We got a crib rail on Tuesday night and put it on the bed, that seems to be helping. After an hour in his room yesterday, he finally napped in his big boy bed. Tuesday night he got out of bed once, Kevin put him back once and he went to sleep. Last night he didn't get out at all! Progress that sticks, I hope!

Previous to this it was either that easy or I'd be in there several times over 2-3 hour spans trying to get him to go to sleep! After he settled he'd sleep until 6am, wake, get out of his bed and sit in his recliner reading books. He'd go back to bed shortly after until about 9am. I so wanted this to stop and for him to go back to 8pm-8am sleeping so he'd get enough rest and be up in time for all the activites we participate in. Again, it's going better now, so I'm thinking the rail provided him the security he needs (and he did roll out of bed once before we had it, so I feel he's safe now!).

The day Liam got his bed.... thanks Grandma for purchasing it, Grammy for transporting it and Auntie Chell' and Uncle David for storing it!

He was pretty excited, can you tell?

This kid and his trains I tell ya!

Dada had a command banquet in LA a couple weeks ago that we (adults only!) attended. We are blessed to have lovely friends in LA who were more than happy to watch Liam. I'll have to share a cute photo of him at their house that evening from my phone later.
Here we are at the award ceremony. It was Mardi Gras themed, hence the beads. I later added a gorgeous mask to my ensemble, thankfully no photos of that!

We decided if we were making the drive and if Kevin was getting a free day off the following day (Friday) we should go and have some fun! The following day, the fun began...
In the hotel, getting ready to leave

Yep! DISNEYLAND!

Liam was INSANE about Goofy that day for some reason!

Clapping

Riding the train before heading back to the hotel

So fun
OFFICIALLY DONE!

Liam picked this out at the Disney gift shop. We have TONS of trains so mama and dada weren't thrilled with his choice, but it's his souvenir. He shocked us when we got home... he can actually drive it! And with tricks too!

After Disneyland, Kevin insisted Liam get a hair cut. I adore those baby curls and actually had nightmares the night before his cut! So we compromised, Liam got his first trim.

Before

After

He did great! Sat and watched Barney the entire time. So he got a lollipop!

So, that's it, the adventures of us over the past few weeks. Last weekend we spent at home, we desperately needed some down time. And now Liam has a stomach virus, so we'll be home working through that over the weekend. Poor kid. First illness ever at 18 months and now we're powering through another. Hoping we get a break here soon!

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
