Lorelei is 7 months (7/6/13)

WOW! Seriously, how on Earth are we parents to a 7 month old (& a preschooler?). I feel like I JUST had Liam a few weeks ago, let alone Lorelei whom I swear I am still pregnant with. Time sure does fly when you're having fun (& when you're losing your mind all the other times!).

Lorelei is weighing in at a whopping 13 pounds, 12 ounces. I need to remeasure her length because the doctor didn't write it down for me at her checkup a few weeks ago. Speaking of the doctor, Lorelei has gained a pound since her 4 month check up. They think it is time to start feeding my baby butter & oil to help her gain weight. So we're trying organic butter in things like carrots or sweet potatoes & cereal and we've introduced (or are introducing) fatty foods -- avocado and yobaby yogurt are the go to's right now! Lorelei LOVES to eat, so it is hard for me to believe she's still weighing in at the 4th percentile (& dropping!). But she seems happy and content, so we are not worried! She eats: sweet potatoes, banana, avocado, carrots, yobaby yogurt and applesauce all made by mommy or daddy. Next up is butternut squash! I'm sure she will love it, she doesn't turn her nose at anything (although avocado must be mixed with something sweet!).

She put two cereal puffs in her mouth yesterday on her own. She can take her pacifier out and put it back in. She sits up on her own. She can army crawl quickly around the house, but usually sticks with the living room (only carpeted area!). She's still as happy as a clam and sometimes I truly wonder where my real child is ;)

Still cloth diapering, but she wears a size 2 disposable at night (they hold more & this girl is a pee-er!). She wears 0-3 month and 3-6 month clothes. Most 6 month clothes are just too big for her. She's a petite little lady that's for sure!

She sleeps well in the day time. She can put herself to sleep. She takes 2 naps, but if for some reason a nap (or two) is/are cut short, she will sneak in a power nap of twenty minutes before dinner. She usually naps the longest in the morning, but with us having to pick up Liam from school during that nap, that may change. She goes 5 hours a night without eating, but is sometimes up before that looking for cuddles. Daddy does cuddling, mommy does the feeding and then cuddling. She wakes anywhere between 5am-9am for the day, just depends on her night (or how noisy her brother is with his 6am wake up!).

She's a pleasant baby unless she is sleepy. She consistently gets fussy at 7pm, but we've been trying to stretch her to 8pm with a bath in hopes she will sleep better/longer. Not working, but thankful she's willing to sleep at all!

She yearns to walk, run and otherwise do what her brother does. I can already tell these two are going to be close. They are truly the most precious kids and together they are so sweet they make my teeth hurt! I love this little lady and her big preschool brother with ALL of my heart and more. To the moon and back, right Liam?!

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
