So, in the scheme of things this probably should have been one of the easiest decisions to make, but Kevin and I just could not agree on a crib bedding set (or theme for that matter) for our little man's nursery. We finally got it down to two and left those on the computer to stare at for a few days.
Well, Kevin finally compromised (okay--he gave in) and my set won! So, our son now has a bedding set and a safari themed bedroom! (on order). Next decision (prone to more disagreements, I'm sure) is finding our little man a name! If you ask Kevin, his name is Aisen, but I have yet to agree on that (more on the great name debate later!). For now, here is the set we're ordering our son tonight! What do you think?!

Sheet (Kevin was worried it's not "manly" enough, I had to convince him it is giraffe print and NOT leopard, which it is, if you look at the rest of the set!).Valance

Wall Art

Hamper, lining and animals are actually a tan color (this does not come with the set, still debating on whether or not this one matches, I may end up returning it and going with the much more expensive hamper that actually comes with the set--we'll see!).
Cute light switch I thought would "complete" the look
I thought we could add on various safari stuffed animals and items (like giraffes, elephants, lions, monkeys, etc.) This past weekend my sister in law gave us a blanket with various shades of green and tan polka dots with an adorable little elephant on it, which will match perfectly (thanks Patty, I knew it was meant to be after opening your gift!).
We're also considering some decals for the wall, since the room is already painted a soft yellow, which I think will blend perfectly with this set, so why paint?! Which decal gets your vote?
I'm leaning toward this one...
But, I also like this one, I just think the color scheme is a little bit off
I also like this one, but noticed there aren't any blues in it
I'm also debating on these cute stick up mirrors to catch light, I was thinking it may entertain/stimulate the baby.
So many decisions, but plenty of time (even though the pregnancy seems to be flying by). In other news, my cold that I've had for the past 3 weeks has now transferred to my right ear which I had absolutely no hearing in yesterday! I went to the doctor who prescribed me penicillin, which I filled at the pharmacy and then came home to research (should have done the opposite). I learned that if you suspect the BABY may have an allergy to penicillin, you'll need another medication. I had not even thought about the fact that Kevin is allergic to penicillin when the doctor gave it to me!
Considering I have been medicine free the entire pregnancy (with the exception of an antibiotic I HAD to take for an infection a few weeks ago) I decided to set out looking for a natural remedy. I really do no want to carry the guilt of wondering if something I took/did during the pregnancy caused the baby any problems, so medicine free is what I decided on long ago--amongst other promises I've made--like no soda/caffeine (even if I am allowed one per day) and little to no sugar (only natural sugars from fruit for me).
So I did some research and decided to try snorting a salt/water mixture (which did not work) so, I inhaled steam for 5 minutes (which also did not work). So, I was back to miserably doing research on the internet until Kevin called for a ride home from work. On our way home, we discussed the good reviews found online for Neti Pot's (which help clear out congestion). So, we bought one (and Kevin bought me a scoop of ice cream) and we headed home to try it.
Well, the Neti pot did absolutely nothing for me, so it was back to the internet to do some more research. My mom sent me an email suggesting 50-50 water and vinegar in the affected ear so we tried that. I left the mixture in for 3 minutes, then drained. I instantly felt some relief. We did the treatment two more times before deciding I should try getting some sleep and judge how I felt in the morning.
I was able to fall asleep no problem, but woke around 2:30 in the worst pain. I remembered reading hot compress would soothe the pain, so I got up and heated up a washcloth. That worked until the cloth went cold, so I decided to lay my head on the heating pad. That in combination with my dental mouthpiece helped somewhat, but it took me 3 hours to get back to sleep!
When Kevin's alarm went off at 7, I felt so much better and absolutely could not even fathom getting out of bed. I slept in until 10 and it felt great! When I finally got out of bed I felt pressure in my head, but could hear about 95% better (I am now hearing at about 80%). It was a fabulous feeling (although the headache/head cold I've had ALL DAY has been annoying, its been mild compared to the pain and torture I went through last night).
So, I'm going to have to agree with my doctor--this pregnancy certainly has been rough on my body, especially during the 'blissful' second trimester (who ever said that was LUCKY!). I know most would disagree with me, but I'd rather have morning sickness than wake up every day feeling like I have the past few weeks. I am hoping all the "pressure" changes I have experienced lately mean this is on it's way out (but won't count my eggs before they hatch!). Wish me luck!

It talks about all natural ways to relieve inner ear swelling, pressure and pain! Hope you feel better soon!!
Love the bedding! I like the monkey decals with the dots, but hard to tell if the colors go? Either way, I'm sure it will all go great!
I like the first decals! Cute bedding, I really like it. The nursery is going to look really nice.
We ordered the first decals, not my favorites, but Kevin loved them! I also ordered that camo blanket (I had one already, but wanted two). So... now I am just waiting for some "baby sales" to buy the bedding! We're so excited, I think it will look great! You need to come by one of these days and see our progress!
