Keeping Busy

Happy Belated 4th from the Fagundes Family!

We've been so busy lately I have not had time to update the blog. Last week Liam visited the pediatrician again. He weighed in at 7lbs 2oz (this was after he peed on daddy-lol). The doctor was amazed at his growth and said he is just perfect--thank you, we could not agree more!

Later that afternoon we headed out to Hanford to visit with family (Liam's first road trip & first trip "home"). Liam did really well, he slept in his car seat for the entire 2 hour drive! We spent five days in the valley--Liam was able to visit, bond and otherwise be spoiled by his Grandma/Grandpa Snowden, Grammy/Papa Fagundes, Auntie's, Uncle's, Great Auntie's, etc. Grandma Snowden even took on a couple of nights so mommy could get some rest (Liam had his first bottle experience with Grandma and he did so well). Thanks Grandma that was a nice break for mommy!

I like hanging out with cousin Braxten!

Liam had three different outfits to wear for the 4th. Thankfully we celebrated at Grammy/Papa's house a day early so we were able to get them all in.

Liam ready to head over to Grammy & Papa's house

We had a wonderful time at Grammy & Papa's (although Liam decided he was hungry right when we were sitting down to eat, so mommy spent all of dinner time nursing Liam!). Liam watched his cousins splash around in the pool for a bit, then played for a few minutes, nursed and went to sleep!

Lazy Liam as we call him

Unfortunately I just realized I did not get any photos of Natalie on the 4th. Her outfit was so cute! Now that I am a mommy and have my hands full Kevin usually operates the camera. I'm thinking we'll have to work with him on the "moments" to capture. Anyways, here is our beautiful niece celebrating the 4th (Michelle I stole this photo, hope you don't mind).

The following day we relaxed, played with cousin Braxten and took in a few fireworks (again Liam wanted to nurse through all the fun stuff). We had lots of fun BBQing and celebrating with Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie & Braxten.

Outfit change (thankfully mommy bought 2 outfits--I had a blow out in the first one!)

We had a great time at "home" hanging out, visiting & introducing Liam to family and friends who had not yet met him. We headed back to the coast Monday afternoon. Once again Liam did really well traveling, but the traffic was horrendous (took us about 3 hrs to get home) so we had to stop for a feeding. Other than that all went smoothly, especially for his first road trip!

I have updates about Liam's third week (it's been a rough one). But baby calls so that will have to wait til' later... check back soon!

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
