First Beach Trip & a Birthday Celebration!

Last Saturday, Liam's cousin Natalie turned one!  Unbelievable!  I feel like we were just meeting her in the hospital for the first time.  I remember it like it was yesterday.  We found out we were pregnant 10 days after she was born.  So I guess part of me has to admit that if Natalie's a year old, then my baby is here in the flesh and growing fast.  Maybe that's why it's all so unbelievable.

Anyways, Natalie's party was a blast.  Liam really enjoyed himself (he LOVES any activity that has to do with people).  And thanks to Auntie Chell's Ergo, we didn't have to fight him on his nap!  PHEW!

Attempts at family photos didn't turn out so well...

Let's get this party started

No fighting that nap!

Last Sunday Liam went to the beach for the first time ever!  He wasn't in the best of moods (we think it may have been the hat--he's not really a fan of them!).  Either way, something put him in a fussy mood, so we were only able to get a couple of shots & we never did make it to the water.  He spent the majority of the afternoon fast asleep in my arms--guess the ocean does that to him?!

Staring at the sand... so far, going well!

Now we're staring at our feet.  Should have known, when this little guy isn't focusing on everything around him, he's sleepy!

And he's over it!

About as close to the water as we got all day!

Wet sand didn't make him any happier

Wide awake at home!

Considering we live a couple of blocks away from the beach, we've promised Liam we'd try another outing to the beach soon.  We're convinced he had an "off" day and would actually enjoy the beach "normally".  Guess we'll see...

Today we went to the pumpkin patch at Avila Valley Barn.  Liam's first pumpkin patch!  We had a great time.  Photos in my next post... this mama is off to bed!  Liam hasn't been sleeping too well (he is definitely teething--his gums are tender, he's sucking/chewing on anything & everything, including his own bottom lip, he's drooling a lot more & he's really restless) so needless to say I'm exhausted!

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
