Happy 4th!

Let me start off by thanking our troops present and past. Without you we would not be celebrating our Independence or continuing to enjoy that freedom today. Bless you all for your sacrifice, selflessness and dedication. To those we lost, we salute you and remember you today! And to all of the families, thank you for your sacrifice. I KNOW firsthand it is not easy, but so worth it.

We had a wonderful holiday. After Liam's morning nap we headed out for a picnic (wish I had a photo of Kevin's gourmet sandwiches--so yummy!). Thanks to Kevin (who packed our picnic)... it was so yummy. We went to a park on the base (so beautiful) and enjoyed watching Liam play, explore and get dirty!

Would NOT surprise me if he became a horticulturist one day. This kid LOVES plants, flowers, trees, birds... anything nature!

He/we were so EXHAUSTED. He climbed up in his chair and enjoyed his milk laying down. Liam says "look Grandma, I finally learned the rocking chair you got me is for SITTING, not standing or using as a ladder" Ha!

He followed this up with a 2 hour afternoon nap (he NEVER naps that long in the afternoon!). Mama didn't complain--she napped too!

After nap time Dada fixed us up a YUMMY bbq dinner, which we enjoyed outside. It's been a BEAUTIFUL weekend here... NO 40mph winds for once. Ha!

It was a wonderful 4th of July weekend. We explored beaches, parks and even our own backyard! It was actually nice not to travel (no laundry/luggage to unpack tonight and on in till tomorrow). Don't get me wrong, we did miss our family in Hanford, but it was so nice to just have a calm weekend, just the 3 of us, especially considering the circumstances and the fact that we ALWAYS travel when Kevin has three or four day weekends. We sure hope your weekend was just as fun and blessed!

Liam:

A-Va (Grandma) is going to have to get you the little recliner from Grandma's house, over to your house as you make relaxing look like fun and that little wooden rocker looks hard as a rock?

Liam, when Momma and Daddy send me pictures of you in the great outdoors you remind me of (Steve Irwin). He was a famous Crocodile Hunter and protecter of all animals large and small. You really enjoy nature and animals too huh?

Well you are one special little man, that's for sure.

Missed you this 4th of July TREMENDOUSLY.

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
