3 Wonderful Months

Liam's 3 Month Photos (please excuse the Sear's watermark, my order isn't in yet, so these are proofs)

Little Man turned 3 months old yesterday!  Happy Birthday my sweet boy.  Mommy & Daddy are in complete awe still (I don't think that feeling will ever wear off--you're too amazing!).  I find myself saying "where is my little (6lb) baby?" a lot these days.  You are growing "sooo big" (as we always tell you) and changing/doing new things every single day.  Time is flying by and while we're very proud of you, sometimes mommy wishes it would all just slow down, so I can linger in all of the moments a while longer.

Stats
all approx. as mommy/daddy did the measuring/weighing ourselves
Weight: 13lbs, WOW, what progress! A month ago you were only 10lbs, 12 oz--you certainly love your milk!

Height: 22 1/2 inches!  You've stretched out an inch over the past month

Head: We got 42cm, so I am thinking we measured wrong (either that or your head is doing a lot of growing).  You were measuring 39 9/10 last month.

Diapers: Size 1, so far we're liking Huggies (daddy) or Tug-a-Boo's (mommy)

Clothes: 0-3 months, SOME 3-6 months (those that do fit have plenty of growing room)

What You're Up To:
Mastered skills   (most babies can do)
Recognizes your face/scent- I'm shocked to see this here.  You had this one figured out weeks ago.  When others cannot calm you, mommy can simply hug you or get within eyesight and you're instantly happy!  You have the same relationship with Daddy now, too!
Holds head steady-does (and has).  We have provided you little assistance with your head for at least a month.  You've been holding it steady for quite some time now.  I love that you can do this--when I hold you on my hip I can look at your perfect little face.
Visually tracks moving objects- yes, but it has to be something you want to follow.  You're still not crazy about tracking baby toys, you'd prefer to track people or the dogs.

Emerging skills  (half of babies can do)
Squeals, gurgles, coos- absolutely and it warms our hearts every single time. You're a pretty happy baby, so the smiles/giggles/coos are a fairly common occurrence (although you'd think it was the first time I'd heard it with the way mommy acts!). You also "talk back" when people ask you questions.  So incredibly precious!
Blows bubbles- oh yes and you've been drooling like crazy for weeks.  We keep looking for teeth, but don't see any (yet).  We figure it's either teething or you're going to be a drooler like your cousin Braxten was!
Recognizes your voice- this one truly melts my heart.  If I walk into a room and am talking, you are looking everywhere for me.  Really makes mama feel special!
Does mini-push up- yep!  Right after you mastered this skill, you decided you'd take it a step further and rolled over!

Here's the drooling/bubble proof shots

Advanced Skills (a few babies can do)
Rolls over from tummy to back- we posted about this last week.  I was shocked, but yes! you rolled over a couple of times.  Although every time we've tried to show someone (grandma/grandpa especially) you've began fussing right as we place you on your tummy.  Yesterday during your photo session the photographer put you on your tummy and you smiled then started the process of your roll over (mommy jumped toward you and it scared you for a second, then you gave me a sly little grin as if to say "just kidding mom! Gotcha!").
Turn towards loud sounds- loud sounds don't really bother you, occasionally you jump but so far you're not really curious as to where they came from.
Can bring hands together, bats at toys- you've been batting at toys for a while now.  As far as bringing your hands together, it's really not your favorite.  Mommy puts them together for you and you quickly pull them apart.

And I have to mention this: you LOVE watching football.  You will sit with daddy in the recliner and suck your thumb as you watch, sometimes you even talk to the tv!  I thought you just liked the tv in general, but you cry when the DVR changes to another program or when it goes to commercial.  You calm down when football is back on! We have this on video... to be posted soon!  You even "walked" over to the tv last night to get a closer view of the game, we hold your arms and you go!

Also, we spent the weekend in Hanford celebrating cousin Braxten's 3rd Birthday!  Today is his official birthday--HAPPY BIRTHDAY COUSIN BRAXTEN!  His party started at the zoo--your first trip to the zoo!  You were really good, but more interested in staring at trees, bushes and people than the animals.  Silly boy!  Again, photos of the zoo trip and festivities to follow (nap time is over, so mommy must run for now)....

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
