A Rolling Good Time!

This sly lil' face says it all... Liam is up to new things!

Quick post while Liam is napping--alone!  That has been going really well lately *knock on wood*.  Last week (Thursday) we started Tracy Hogg's (baby whisperer) method of pat-shh for nap time.  And I am HAPPY to report that it is working!  It has been a very trying time for both mommy & daddy (especially for who has had to continue the exhausting technique on her own since daddy went out of town for 2 days) BUT I think we've finally got it!  Liam has been napping on his own (there have been some in the car seat while mommy was running errands and a couple where we napped together--so those don't count) but every nap in which I've tried to put him down for over the past few days has resulted in him napping--alone, not being held!

Today the process of getting him into the nap has been much easier than usual (no crying, no fighting it) *knock on wood again*.  Some naps don't last long, but they are definitely getting longer (two hours has been the max. so far, although that was a one time deal) the usual is between 30 min-1 hr, which is great!  It's not the 3-5 hour naps that he was having on mommy, but somehow I think this is healthier since he's not missing feedings & it teaches him how to sleep!  We are so proud of you Baby Liam!

And the pride doesn't end there!  Liam rolled from his tummy to his back on the nursing pillow last night (previous to this he's just rolled side to side when laying on his back).  I happened to have the camera because I thought he looked so cute and was so happy he was doing well on his tummy (not crying) so I was snapping shots for daddy who was out of town!  Then, I realized he was on his side and not on his tummy as I had put him minutes before.
How mama laid him
I still haven't realized what he's doing
I think he has a plan...
YEP!  He sure did... here is the result!

No, this photo is not sideways!

Here is video of the action:

His pants were too long so when I looked down to see what he was struggling with I realized he had his foot stuck in his clothes.  After I undid the bunched up fabric he went for it!

I thought it was just a fluke so I put him back on his tummy again with this result:
Pretty sure he's scheming again!
I think he really enjoys this!
 Here's the action on video:

As you can see, I could not even pick up the camera fast enough!  He was mid-roll by the time I got the camera recording.  I put him back on his tummy and recorded it again w/ my cell phone so we could send it to daddy!  Daddy was shocked and sad he missed it.  I made him do it again several more times (I was freaking out!) but those videos didn't turn out so good (very dark!).  But, I assure you and myself... it was no fluke!

So now the goal is to get him to do it without the nursing pillow leverage, which I tried to encourage last night but he was over it!

On the floor now...
No more Mom!

I was/am so excited.  Truly was the neatest thing.  I cannot even explain the feeling a mother gets when her child does something so amazing.  I truly was/am beaming with pride.  Liam you are so incredibly amazing... mommy & daddy adore you!!!

And finally, I could not resist these photos, I think it is just so adorable how he has mastered thumb sucking.  He fully extends his thumb now and it just looks so cute!

And then there's these randoms (I am just obsessed with this little guy!):

He's really interested in the dangling toys on his toy gym now!
My silly lil' guy
Why do I feel like this is a look I'll see a lot over the next few years?!
He LOVES blowing bubbles!
Hmm... this one scares me!  What are you planning in that lil' head?!
Just hanging out...
Bye everyone!  Make sure to check back soon, you never know what I may be doing next...

Therapy...

Not being silent about our loss is looking to be the best therapy for me during this difficult time. Through Facebook I've had countless friends reach out to me and share their stories of loss. Although it doesn't make me feel better, as we're talking about too many babies in heaven, it does make me feel less alone. So I was diagnosed w/ blighted ovum. Meaning the gestational sac and placenta was growing inside of me (the ultrasound showed it was indeed around 7 weeks along) but the baby stopped developing and was reabsorbed into my uterus. Problem is, the placenta is responsible for pregnancy symptoms, so my body still thinks it is pregnant, but there is no longer a baby or embryo. So, until I actually miscarry the tissue, I will feel pregnant. I don't know how to explain how I've been feeling the past few weeks. At first I thought it was just my uneasy feelings of this pregnancy being "unplanned" and so close to my previous pregnancy. It took me a wh...

25 Weeks & Doctor's Appt.

We hit the 25 week mark today!  Hard to believe!  Time is flying so fast... We had our doctor's appointment today (Kevin is out of town Thursday, so we moved it up).  I weighed in at a whopping 109.8!  My nurse and my doctor's response was they are so so proud of me (I felt so special!  Who would have thought GAINING weight would be so exciting?!).  Kevin's response "WHOA!"  And my response to his "WATCH IT Buddy!"  Ha!  So that's almost 14lbs of weight gain!  I really am quite proud of myself... never thought I could do it (although, I spend most of my time eating these days, so it makes sense). The nurse said I "look cute, am starting to show and have that pregnancy waddle."  Considering I did not feel like I was waddling (sometimes I have to because my tailbone hurts so bad) I was not exactly thrilled about this comment, lol!  I asked Kevin if there is something he is forgetting to tell me... ha! The doctor measured my...
